Rosemarie is a Toronto-based dance artist, teacher and award-winning choreographer. Having been taught by leading industry educators and professionals across Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe, Rosemarie holds a Master of Arts Degree with Distinction in Contemporary Dance from the University of Kent in England. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance with the EDge Company of the London Contemporary Dance School in London, England and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ryerson University in Theatre Performance: Dance.
As a dancer, Rosemarie has worked for local and international choreographers such as Debra Brown (Cirque Du Soleil), Patti Wilcox (US), David Earle, Alexander Whitley (GB), Allen Kaeja, Emmanuelle LePhan, Jorge Crecis (ES), William Yong, Valerie Calam, Philippe Blanchard (FR), Tom Roden (GB) and Joseph Toonga (GB). As a performer, she has worked for and alongside local companies such as: Alias Dance Project, Cadence Ballet, Lady Luck Productions, The Dance Migration, A2D2 - Aerial Dance Cirque Company and international companies: Scottish Dance Theatre (GB), SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (AT), Le Marchepied (CH), Jasmin Vardimon 2ndCompany (GB), Regionteatre Väst (SE), Company Chameleon (GB) and 2 Faced Dance Company (GB). Throughout her career, Rosemarie has toured across Europe and the United Kingdom as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. She can be seen in numerous television commercials, has performed in touring shows, industrials, independent feature films, music videos, live theatre and performed alongside Madonna in 2014. She was also a feature performer with the EDge Company at Move It – Main Stage Programme 2016 at the ExCel London.
Rosemarie is currently Artistic Manager at The Maple Academy of Dance. Her high acclaim awards her numerous Overall high-scoring routines, teacher recognition, choreography and top teacher awards year after year for her innovative work and students’ exceptional technique. She is also on faculty at The Carret Dance Conservatory where she teaches for both the Classical Ballet and Contemporary Divisions. Her involvement in education also includes teaching for educational institutes, private dance studios and pre-professional programs across Canada including the Peel and York District School boards, The School of Cadence Ballet, the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo and Dance Attack Workshops. Additionally, Rosemarie has embarked on homeschooling primary-level students in dance, fitness, nutrition and dance history. As a freelance artist, Rosemarie has choreographed for musical ensembles, independent dance films, professional photo shoots and is a highly sought after adjudicator for various regional and national dance competitions throughout Canada.
Rosemarie takes pride in educating and encouraging others and aspires to promote and foster her passion for the art of dance in future artists. Her students accomplishments include acceptances to highly acclaimed summer intensives and schools including: York and Ryerson Universities (Toronto), Simon Fraser University (Vancouver), The Royal Ballet School (London), Arts Umbrella (Vancouver), Paris Opera Ballet School (France), The School of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre (New York), Ellison Ballet (New York), The Rock School for Dance Education (Philadelphia), San Francisco Ballet School (San Francisco), University of North Carolina School for the Arts (North Carolina), Kirov Academy of Ballet (Washington), L’École Supérieure De Ballet Du Québec (Québec), The HARID Conservatory (Florida), Bolshoi Ballet Academy (Russia) and The American Ballet Theatre (New York). Her students can also be seen in several television commercials and television shows including: The Next Step (Family Channel, Disney Channel, Universal Kids), Backstage (Family Channel, Disney Channel) and 2ndGeneration (Amazon Video), in the feature film Every Day(Orion Pictures), and dancing on the Toronto Argonauts Cheer Team. Additionally, Rosemarie’s students have competed across Europe with Team Canada and at Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Toronto where they have placed Top 12 & 24 and have been invited to Finals in New York City, NY.
