Join us for a remarkable evening of dance and imagery highlighting Karen Kaeja and Allen Kaeja’s lives in dance on January 26 at the Fleck Dance Theatre.

Date: Sunday, January 26, 2020 @ 7pm

Venue: Fleck Dance Theatre, 207 Queens Quay W., Toronto

Tickets: $25 per person with reception and wine.

Catered Pre-Performance Reception in Upper Lobby followed by performances in the theatre with 30 dance artists and After-Party in Upper Lobby.

Their breathtaking achievements will be celebrated by 30 remarkable dance artists who have graced the Kaeja’s works and lives throughout the years. Re-visit 39 years of innovative creative practice through some of the pair’s most iconic works. Each featured dance artist offers you a one-minute re-imagining inspired by a different Kaeja piece with the performance culminating in a duet by “the coolest couple on the dance scene” (NOW Magazine), Karen & Allen Kaeja.

“When I notice that Allen has rested his hand on Karen’s knee, I find myself thinking of the likes of Kahlo and Rivera, Plath and Hughes, Stein and Toklas – artistic couples in which a profound affinity for a shared form proved transformative.” (Martha Schabas – Globe and Mail)

Dance lovers will not want to miss this unique chance to see dance artists from Toronto and beyond, on one stage as they revisit works called “Visually extravagant, emotionally complex…marvelously theatrical” by The Globe and Mail.

“… no phrase quite encompasses the extraordinary range of ways in which the Kaejas engage with dance and each other.” (Michael Crabb – Toronto Star)
