Jera Wolfe is Métis. He was born in Toronto and grew up Kelowna, B.C. His love of dance began at the age of 13 and he trained in hip hop, breakdance, and jazz. He was accepted into a ballet summer intensive here at The Banff Centre which sparked his passion for classical ballet. This led him to study at The National Ballet School of Canada and at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Since graduating, Jera has focused on contemporary and Indigenous forms of dance expression. He was a top twenty finalist on CTV’s television series So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Since appearing on the show, he has continued to train in contemporary dance, working here in Canada with Ka:hawi Dance Theatre and in Germany where he is currently a dancer. Jera has been a dancer with the Indigenous Dance Residency at The Banff Centre from 2011 to 2014, and was selected as part of the inaugural merit dancer program with the Indigenous Dance Residency.
