Heather Labonté has studied and performed bellydance, jazz, ballet, and modern in her eighteen year dance adventure,. Her comprehensive performing arts background also includes music and theatre.
As a soloist, Heather performs regularly in Toronto and her hometown, St. John's, with special appearances across North America. She made her European debut at Infusion Emporium in the United Kingdom in fall 2013. She has had the pleasure of performing with some of her mentors, including Mira Betz, Samantha Emanuel, and Heather Stants. She has danced with Lavish Dance since 2010, including performances in the 2011 Affogato tour and at Tribal Fest 13.
Heather relocated to Toronto to continue her studies with her mentor Audra Simmons at the Dark Side Studio in 2009, where she now teaches weekly classes and directs the Dark Side Student Troupe. She continues her studies in hip hop, modern dance and classical bellydance and holds herPhase II: Cultivation certification from Rachel Brice's 8 Elements™ as well as her Basic Black certification in the Dark Side Dance Program. Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in History and Political Science and works as a social media consultant in the television industry.
