Schooled in the Salons of Europe, Chrisa Assis is a tango dancer and instructor, now living in Toronto. Having a strong foundation in ballet, she later trained in Argentine Tango. As a teacher, She believes dance is a way for two partners to become one, joined by moments of sublime unity and freedom through movement. She sees every dance as a kind of communication--with every step a word in the unspoken dialogue of emotions.
Chrisa has trained with many of the top names in Argentine Tango, including Sebastian Achaval, Roxana Suarez, Sebastian Arce Mariana Montes, Romina Tumini, Jorge Raul Bravo, Gabriel Marino, Celine Ruiz, Milena Plebs, Los Hermanos Macana, Geraldin Rojas, Pablo Veron, Horacio Godoy, DNI and more.
Her knowledge in kinesiology, has been gained by seminars in "body and mind centering", somatic dance, and lastly by seminars in becoming a certified fitness instructor. Whereas her experience in the fields of Art, Science and research has been supported by her studies in Architecture, as well as her training in theatre. These skills along with everyday training has offered her the possibility of organizing tango therapy sessions in cooperation with different healing groups as well.
