Quinte Ballet School of Canada’s Summer Dance Intensive (SDI) 2017 takes place ffrom July 2 to July 22. For students looking to attend the full time Professional Training Program that starts in September, SDI is the second part of the audition process.
The Summer Dance Intensive is composed of two streams: the Professional Training Program (PTP) and the Open Training Program (OTP).
The Open Training Program is for students looking to have a great summer of dance, and train with QBSC’s artistic staff and special guest faculty. Students in both programs are placed in levels according to age and ability.
PTP and OTP students take classes together, and all students are eligible for placement in residence should it be required.
QBSC believes that versatility is very important for dancers today, thus classes are offered in a wide variety of dance techniques and style, these include:
- Ballet Technique
- Pointe Work
- Boy’s Work
- National Dance
- Hip Hop
QBSC is pleased to welcome back renowned international dancer and teacher Henning Albrechtsen for the first week of Summer Dance Intensive. He will be instructing select levels of Ballet classes as guest teacher, namely Boys Work.
Since 2015 Henning has been freelance teaching internationally, predominantly in the Bournonville technique, and has taught Master classes at various schools around the world including the Royal Ballet School in London, National Ballet School of Cuba, National Ballet School of Canada and the Paris Opera Ballet School.
