Quinte Ballet School Summer Dance Intensive

Quinte Ballet School of Canada’s Summer Dance Intensive (SDI) 2017 takes place ffrom July 2 to July 22. For students looking to attend the full time Professional Training Program that starts in September, SDI is the second part of the audition process.

The Summer Dance Intensive is composed of two streams: the Professional Training Program (PTP) and the Open Training Program (OTP).

The Open Training Program is for students looking to have a great summer of dance, and train with QBSC’s artistic staff and special guest faculty. Students in both programs are placed in levels according to age and ability.

PTP and OTP students take classes together, and all students are eligible for placement in residence should it be required.

QBSC believes that versatility is very important for dancers today, thus classes are offered in a wide variety of dance techniques and style, these include:

  • National Dance

  • QBSC is pleased to welcome back renowned international dancer and teacher Henning Albrechtsen for the first week of Summer Dance Intensive.  He will be instructing select levels of Ballet classes as guest teacher, namely Boys Work.

    Since 2015 Henning has been freelance teaching internationally, predominantly in the Bournonville technique, and has taught Master classes at various schools around the world including the Royal Ballet School in London, National Ballet School of Cuba, National Ballet School of Canada and the Paris Opera Ballet School.

Summer Dance Intensive

Burlington Dance Academy's Summer Dance Intensive is open to students 6-18 years of age. Partcipants experience four or five intensive hours of classes a day in ballet, jazz, acro, hip hop and lyrical. BDA Dance Intensive is a fantastic opportunity for the serious dancer to sharpen their skills and performance abiltity The program runs from August 21st - 25th. Sean Boutilier-Full Day Summer Camp

Full Day Camp- For the older dancer (Ages 7-16) your week includes fun, and quality study in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical Theatre. Our classes are divided into 4 levels of ability providing instruction for beginner to advanced students. Thursdays mark special lunch days with ice cream or pizza; Friday afternoons feature a showcase for parents to see what has been achieved throughout the week. Video cameras are permitted.

Mississauga Location

Etobicioke Location

August 14th- 18th, 9:00-4:00pm

Four levels of ability are available for ages 7 to 16. It is a great opportunity for students to sample ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop, and acro. Classes run Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Supervised extended hours are available at the studio beginning at 4:00 pm.

Peggy Baker Dance Projects August Intensive

Peggy Baker Dance Projects returns with a progressive curriculum for its August 2017 Intensive. Led by master teachers, this workshop is designed for professional dancers and pre-professional dance students enrolled in full-time dance training programs.

Registration Options: 

Option 1 – take advantage of lower pricing by registering for the full intensive! Choose between two distinct full week streams: Repertory or Creative Practice. For dancers in the Repertory stream, the intensive closes with a public showcase on Saturday, August 19.

Option 2 – devise your own training schedule, comprised of a full week of an individual course or courses.

Option 3 – attend a full week of Creative Practice and Open Studio sessions.

Option 4 – single class registration or drop-in. (Drop-ins are subject to availability. Given the popularity of the intensive, and the relatively small class capacities, we strongly encourage you to pre-register for single classes if possible).

Peggy Baker Dance Projects Dance Educators' Seminar

Led by master teachers, the Dance Educators’ Seminar is designed for experienced and emerging dance instructors with the goal of enhancing and refreshing teaching techniques. The curriculum focuses on highly kinetic and beautifully thought out materials and methods that may be brought immediately into vivid action with one’s own students. This seminar will take place in the heart of downtown Toronto at Canada’s National Ballet School. Full registration for all four days is required.Led by master teachers, the Dance Educators’ Seminar is designed for experienced and emerging dance instructors with the goal of enhancing and refreshing teaching techniques.
