Ontario-based choreographers are invited to meet to discuss the state of our field, to come together to discuss the issues that affect our working lives.

Toronto, September 8, 2017 – Enthusiastic applause broke out at last week’s surprise announcement by Premier Kathleen Wynne and Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport that the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) will receive a funding increase to its current base of $60 million bringing it to $80 milllion over four years by 2020-21. The $50 million increase will roll out accordingly: $5 million in 2017-18, $10 million in 2018-19, $15 million in 2019-20 and $20 million in 2020-21.

Newton Moraes Dance Theatre will be performing Testosterone at the WIP Dance Series at the Free Flow Dance Centre in Saskatoon on September 23rd and teaching a dance workshop to the dance community there on September 24, 2017. They will also be teaching and performing in Vancouver the following week.

Carolyn Warren appointed new Director General Arts Granting Programs
at the Canada Council for the Arts

Ottawa, August 21, 2017 - The Canada Council for the Arts’ Director and CEO, Simon Brault, is pleased to announce that Carolyn Warren will join the organization as Director General (DG), Arts Granting Programs Division. She will take up the role as incoming DG on October 10, 2017 and will fully lead the division when the current DG, Jacques Vézina, retires at the end of 2017.
