Dance Ontario’s Selection Committee (Lola Ryan, Jennifer Watkins, Ofilio Portillo, Alan Faigal, Tina Nicolaidis) is delighted to announce that choreographers Ryan Lee and Alyssa Martin (Rock Bottom Movement) have been chosen for the 2016 Creative Partnerships Program. These unique artists will bring two exciting world premieres to the Fleck Dance Theatre stage in January as part of Dance Ontario DanceWeekend 2017.

The Dance Ontario Awards Committee is delighted to announce that Vivine Scarlett will be the recipient of the Dance Ontario Lifetime Achievement Award.
Nominated by Kate Cornell and Kevin Ormsby, MsScarlett has been active in the dance community for over 34 years and is the founder and curator of Dance Immersion.

In the Dance Division, Peggy Baker Dance Projects and princess productions tie for two awards each. Outstanding Original Choreography went to Zhenya Cerneacov, Mairéad Filgate and Brodie Stevenson for Various Concert, part of princess productions' dance: made in canada / fait au canada festival while Fabien Piché won Outstanding Performance - Male for Waiting for a Sleepless Night, part of the same festival.

The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) Cross-Sectoral Associate Officer Maura Broadhurst has taken over responsibilities from Touring and Audience Development Officer Noora Sagarwala, who is on maternity leave until January 2017.

Burlington MPP Eleanor McMahon is replacing Micheal Coteau as Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

Eleanor McMahon was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2014 as the MPP for Burlington.

McMahon currently serves as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry.

The Shared Charitable Platform consortium partners — The Canada Council for the Arts,
the Ontario Arts Council, the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and
the Metcalf Foundation — would like to take this opportunity to provide an update on the
pilot project.
The selection of an organization to deliver the pilot was originally scheduled for December
