As a sales associate, you are the face and voice of Dancewear Centre. You are the person that interacts with the customer the most and it is your responsibility to make their shopping experience as fun and exciting as possible. You fully attend to customers to ensure a smooth sale process as soon as they walk in the door. Actively seek and engage customers to understand their needs and to aid them in their shopping experience. Be excited and engage in what the customer is looking for. Possessing a background in dance is imperative to providing personal opinions on fittings and to answering any dance related questions. You are knowledgeable about all products carried at the store to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and to be able to cross sell products. Stay with the customer and walk them through their purchase as much as possible to build a relationship with them. Loyalty with our customers is a key component to the business’s success. All employees are expected to be on top of all that is happening in the store. You are in control of the customers’ overall experience at Dancewear Centre and are expected to ensure all duties are met to make it an enjoyable and memorable one. Every day a customer walks in is an opportunity to turn them into a loyal Dancewear Centre customer.

Job Responsibilities

The sales associate’s first responsibility is to help customers in all aspects of their visit to the store. This can include:

  • Helping to fit dance shoes and clothing
  • Assessing customer needs and provide the correct assistance to those needs
  • Ability to answer questions customers have
  • Assisting co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  • Answering the phone
  • Operating the cash register
  • Pricing and hanging clothing and accessories
  • Restocking the store front
  • Tidying, organizing and cleaning all sections of the store front
  • Maintaining stock room organization
  • Knowing and following all company policies and procedures
  • Assisting Warehouse Manager with internet orders
