Makin’ Moves Children’s Dance Theatre is a successful Ottawa repertory dance studio with unique services to children of all ages who are interested in discovering dance and theatre through formal training in classical ballet. The studio presents 3 shows annually which provides the children with the opportunity to build and demonstrate confidence and skills. Many of these students are accepted into fine-arts programs and professional performances.
The studio’s philosophy is that study and training in classical ballet provides the foundation for success at all other dance forms. The studio believes that with personalized attention and coaching amazing results are achievable. The training and discipline learned prepares the student for the rigors of a degree program of for the professional world. It also shapes the students approach to dealing with challenges, building determination and discipline; important ingredients to success and contentment in life.
The studio is looking for a qualified, responsible Dance Instructor to sell the services of the studio and teach dance classes. Experience dancing or teaching dance is an asset with foundations in ballet. In brief, the responsibilities are to; keep the program fully reenrolled with a waiting list, respond to enrolment enquiries, market in the community, act as dance teacher for classes and programs. The successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communicate skills, be driven by the desire to succeed, derive great pride from professional accomplishments, possess exceptional organizational skills, and be committed to results.
The role is a Part time position including evenings and weekends, with flexible hours reporting to the Artistic Director (AD) and the Executive Director (ED), and will:
- Confirm registrations
- Create and manage staff and student files
- Assist with delivering the program whenever necessary
- Manage the dance studio facility
- Prepare and deliver reports to the AD and ED
Makin’ Moves provides an attractive base pay plus a generous job performance bonus in an inspiring environment. $15 - 20/hour
