Windsor and Region Dance WaRD

Windsor and Region Dance is an official affiliate of Dance Ontario and we are proud to be working with this provincial organization to help shape the future in the Windsor Region. The work we do through WaRD is structured to provide a networked approach to evolving our local capacity for dance audience and participation. We strive to do this through marketing local dance events, making broader connections and engaging in special projects with professional dance artists.

The Affiliate acts as a catalyst for collaborators drawn from local arts councils, public school boards, dance studios, and local professional artists who will promote and encourage increased sustainable dance activities.

Current Activities

Dance Creations 2022

Windsor and Region Dance was thrilled to participate in their first partnership with Diana Fleming who received an Arts, Culture and Heritage Funds Grant from the City of Windsor early in 2022.  The project provided an opportunity for Mary Jo Mullins and Louise Paquette to choreograph two new solo works. They were busy during the fall of this year, getting back into the groove of creating and rehearsing after a long pause during the pandemic.

They are looking forward to performing these new works in the spring of 2023.
