Dear Teachers, Dancers and Parents:
I am sure everyone is busy getting ready for the 2014 Competition Season. I wish everyone lots of luck for a successful dance season. Please note the date below for the first auditions for TEAM CANADA. Originally we were going to have it on Easter Monday, however, even though the students are off school that day many of their parents are not off work, therefore making it hard for dancers to attend the auditions. We have moved it to Saturday March 30th to help accommodate transportation for dancers.

IMPORTANT
Dancers wishing to audition on Saturday March 30th please email bonnie@cdo-online.org to reserve your spot. Only if we have room in the audition will we take walk-ins. Once I receive your email I will send you back the audition form for you to fill out and bring with you along with a short bio stapled to the back.

In the past we have had many dancers that come out to audition because they want to take Workshop/Audition classes with the choreographers or they want to see if they are good enough to make the team. Please, we would like only dancers that are truly interested in representing Canada at the prestigious World Championships come to the audition/workshop classes. The cost including choreography, rehearsals, Flight, Hotel, Ground Transportation in Europe, Team Canada Jacket is usually around $3500.00 – $3800.00 Cost will vary if you are chosen and ACCEPT for small groups. An additional choreography fee will be charged by the choreographers for small groups. Soloist and Duets: Each Nation is allowed to take only three soloist per age category. Therefore the fairest way to choose the top three dancers from Canada is to have them compete. Soloist and Duets will be chosen from the top winners from the Canadian National Dance Championships. Judges from 7-9 Nations judge the World Championships and with over 40 Nationals as member it is a real honor to have a judge on the panel. Judges are chosen by the results from the past three years at the World Championships. I am proud to say that Canada has a judge on the Panel this year for Show Dance, Tap , Ballet, Jazz and Modern. Congratulations dancers for such a great showing on the World Stage.
