Please join Dancemakers at its first ever Kitchen Table Conversation, on Tuesday, November 7 at 7 pm.
This informal conversation will allow us to be safe to disagree, air differences of opinions, quickly confirm or repudiate assumptions and organizational dogma, and generate new and innovative ways to look at or resolve a problem.
Here's our big question: DOES THE WAY WE WATCH DANCE CHANGE WHEN INTERDISCIPLINARY ELEMENTS ARE INTRODUCED?
Watching dance tends to be a coded practice: recognizing genre, recognizing steps, recognizing how you are supposed to behave depending on what you recognize. But what when things are unrecognizable? What when disparate practices are thrown into the mix? And at what point does this happen? Leading up to our November 9 presentation of Flowchart: a Series of Multidisciplinary Performance, we'll talk together about the interplay between choreography - and everything else!
Date/Time: Tuesday, November 7, 2017 | 7:00 until 9:00 pm (hard stop) | Refreshments will be served
Location: Dancemakers’ Office | 15 Case Goods Lane, Studio 301 | Toronto's Historic Distillery District
