Fall Term Drop In Classes at In Studio

Our drop in classes allow participants to attend classes that are best suited to their schedules. These classes aim to provide students with a challenging and enjoyable learning environment from Canada’s finest dance artists.

Beginner Jazz
Learn the basics of jazz dance. Each class will include a warm up, focused on developing technique and strength, traveling diagonal combinations and a centre combination.

Master Class with Principal Dancer Evan McKie


In Studio’s Master Classes give teen and adult dance students the opportunity to learn from Principal Dancers, First Soloists and Principal Character Artists of The National Ballet of Canada. Our Master Classes are also open to spectators. Participants should be at an elementary/intermediate level of ballet training or higher, and age 14 and older. Adults are welcome to participate.

FREE Vernacular Jazz Dance Classes

Vernacular Jazz is a collection of dances created in the African-American communities during the late 1800’s through mid 1900’s, to jazz and swing music.  From the Charleston to the shimmy, to Snake Hips, to the Suzy Q, we’ll dance to some snazzy rhythms while learning the moves and grooves of original jazz dancing, and the tricks that bring this dance to life.

  • No previous experience required.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing. 
  • Washrooms are available for changing.
  • Bring your own water bottle.

Kaeja Elevations Certification Course - The Art of Flying


Kaeja Elevations® (KE) is an approach to partnering where all genders, experience and physique are on a level playing field. Rooted in contact improvisation, KE relies on the architectural structure of two bodies interacting while complimented by gravity, momentum, propulsion, breath and flow. Best suited for Grades 6-12 and art schools. 

In this 5-day course, you will get the tools you need to teach students and dancers to work collectively to safely soar through the air and surpass their expectations.

Free Afrofusion Dance Classes with Esie Mensah

Afrofusion is a blend of traditional and contemporary African styles fused with a multitude of dance styles such as Hip Hop, Dancehall, Soca, Contemporary, House and more. It is a fusion of various vocabularies seamlessly put together to create a very unique blend of movement. Esie Mensah has been perfecting her style for over 4 years. This is one that continues to evolve as she grows as a choreographer and dancer.

dance Immersion Presents: Contemporary Dance Class with Germaul Barnes

Germaul Barnes has created JOY™ - a contemporary dance class that exposes students to the fundamentals of the Barnes' fusion of movement styles. Participants will focus on the ability in their relation to the floor, building power, fluidity, balance, and speed. With additional focus on isometric conditioning and proper alignment, the class teaches dancers how to apply energy, efficiency, and accuracy to movement while reclaiming the JOY™ of dancing.

 Open to all levels of dance practitioners.
