Summer Sundays Highland Dance


A fun summer workshop to introduce your child to the basics of dance and learn some of the Highland Fling. Teaching since 1986. Classes limited to no more than 5 children per class. MCAD presents the Afro Dance Week Long Camp

July 16 to July 23

MCAD, (best known for performing for President Obama's African Inaugural Ball in Washington DC)presents an Afro Dance Week Long Camp, a 7 day camp held from July 16 to July 23 2010. This overnight camp features different african dances from the south, east, west and north of Africa and includes learning drumming, storytelling, batik art and more! Open to age groups 8-20 and anyone interested in learning about Africa! DAY camp space also available. Over 10 instructors available to teach from MCAD, and features 8 trained camp leaders, 8 assistant trained camp leaders, a camp c-ordinator, and a camp Director.

The camp is being held at Camp Bingeman's in Kitchner, Ontario. Fee is $750 before June 15 for the overnight camp and includes Transportation (to and from campsite), Food (menu provided in advance) and Accommodation. OIP Dance Centre is holding its 5th annual Summer Dance Intensive 2010 for dancers 9 years and up. This year we prepared something special for you! Our teachers' team will include Canada's BEST Choreographers including SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA stars: Danny Lawn, Caroline Torti, and Jesse; also Danny Davalos, Kojo "TUCH" Mayne, Heather Leslie, Mariano, and others!

Classes will include Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, House, Stepping, Breakdancing, and Popping & Locking. Different levels are offered! This is the best opportunity to improve your dancing skills and technique!!!

KAHAWI DANCE THEATRE

SUMMER TRAINING INTENSIVE
Kaha:wi Dance Theatre, Canada’s premiere Aboriginal contemporary dance company, invites dancers of all backgrounds to join us in Toronto, Canada at Canada’s National Ballet School in August 2010 for a dance training intensive like no other.
Led by National Ballet School of Canada trained Mohawk choreographer and dancer, Santee Smith, Kaha:wi Dance Theatre performs across Canada and on stages around the world (including performances in 2009/2010 at festivals in Australia, Japan, Mexico and the United States).

Two programs are offered:
· Advanced Dance Practitioners: Take up to three consecutive weeks of intense training in ballet, modern, Santee Smith choreography and traditional powwow.

· Recreational dancers: An intensive one week technical foundations class with the same faculty as our pre-professional dance students.

The Korean Canadian Cultural Assoication (KCCA) and the Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada (KDSSC) has teamed up to create the first Korean cultural summer camp in Toronto.
