SUMMER SCHOOL 2010 AT THE QUINTE BALLET SCHOOL OF CANADA IS GOING TO BE ONE TO REMEMBER!

Come and join us in the picturesque city of Belleville, Ontario for a fun-filled summer of dancing!

The QBSC Summer School caters to all dancers ages 10-20 through its 2 programs:

- The Professional Intensive Program is a selective, audition-only program that immerses the aspiring dancer in a 4 week dance experience (option of 2 weeks available) which culminates in an assessment for acceptance into the full time program commencing September 2010.

- Our Open Program is for students who love to dance, want a fun and exciting Summer School experience, though may not be looking for a full time program.

- Regardless of the program students have the option of 2 or 4 weeks from July 5 – 30th. All students will have classes with our highly qualified staff. Also this summer we are honored to have several outstanding guest teachers from today’s dance world. New Artistic Director John Ottmann has rejuvenated the school through his commitment to a modern vision while continuing to provide students with a strong foundation in classical ballet training.

Program I ~ Junior Dance and Drama
Age 9 to 11: Ballet(Vaganova), modern(Graham), character dance, choreography, stretch & conditioning, drama.

Program II ~ Senior Ballet Intensive
Age 12 to 16: Ballet(Vaganova), pointe, variations, pas-de-deux, repertoire, character dance, modern(Graham), stretch & conditioning.

Program III ~ Theatre Arts
Age 9 to 16: Exploration of different dramatic forms and techniques, vocal training, stage movement, monologues, costume and stage design.

Dance Intensive Summer Camp

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Get back into tip-top shape before the dance year begins. Designed for dancers with a minimum of six years of dance training, this four-day camp will take even the most advanced dancer to the next level. This camp offers a one-time chance to work with the dance community’s most sought-after and highly respected teachers/choreographers. A dance training resume and/or a DVD will be required to determine acceptance.

The School of Decidedly Jazz: TAP INTENSIVE WITH HEATHER CORNELL

The Intensive is open to tap dancers of all ages (14yrs and up) but will be geared towards tap teachers. Much is to be learned from Heather's master teaching skills, whether you are a teacher or simply a tap lover, you will take SO much away with you!

Sessions run Sunday night to Tuesday afternoon (see attached PDF schedule and application form) with evening events on Sunday and Monday nights. Prices range from $40 - $345 + GST.

There will be opportunities to network, meet fellow tappers, dance to live music and ask questions of Heather.
