Grantwriting Workshop for Urban Dance Artists
The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) and Toronto Arts Council (TAC) invite urban dance artists to:
A FREE workshop on how to prepare a grant application
Let's talk about:
· What you want to do?
· Can a grant help you do it?
· What's in an application?
· What is an artist statement and how do you write one?
· What should you include in a project description?
· How do you draft a realistic budget?
· What makes good support material?
Bring your ideas and questions about the kinds of projects you would like to apply for. Soraya Peerbaye, TAC’s dance officer, and Myles Warren, OAC’s dance officer, will facilitate the session. We’ll also talk about how different grants can support a project (and you!) at different stages of the project’s development.
Please tell others about this workshop. Registration is not required.
The workshop will be held on:
Wednesday, February 1, 2012
4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
at the Ontario Arts Council board room, 6th floor
151 Bloor Street West
Toronto, Ontario
The nearest intersection to the OAC is Bloor West and Avenue Road; we are at the Museum subway stop on the University-Spadina line and the Bay stop on the Bloor-Danforth line.
The sessions will be conducted in English.

Toronto Dance Theatre: Susan Klein
TDT is delighted to welcome Susan Klein back to Toronto
following the success of her workshop in September!
This workshop will emphasize a pivotal principle of Klein Technique, the concept of moving from our
deepest structural and energetic tissue, the bone. Through an interweaving of theory and practice we will
work on the muscles of deep postural support: the psoas, the hamstrings, the pelvic floor muscles, and
the external rotators. We will work with a body-felt understanding of how these muscles bring the bones
into alignment, a place of connectedness, which leads to true power and efficiency of movement.
Students of all levels of practice in Klein Technique will gain insight into their movement patterns and
habits and gain a greater internal understanding of their bodies.
Prior knowledge of Klein Technique is not necessary, and the workshop is open to all members of the
professional dance community.
For more information on Susan and her work visit www.kleintechnique.com
